Low Res

Just experimenting with a glitchy effect! I tried to do this one as quickly as I could, because I don't exercise nearly enough. That and I have an ambitious long-term piece I'm working on, so I need some shorter ones to complete in the meantime. Gotta bounce back and forth! Keeps me interested in spending time drawing.

In the spirit of exercise I just kinda fell back on pretty-lady-faces in the standard pink and blue neon color scheme XD. Yeah maybe I'm pandering to the shit that's hot right now, but too bad. I'm a sucker for the cyberpunk aesthetic.

I want to push this glitch stuff further, while still keeping my hand drawing style... I didn't find the right balance here, but it just didn't seem worth the time to draw all those drippy-pixel-bits on what was supposed to be a quick drawing.

I'll definitely be drawing more glitch-art inspired drawings in the future. There's just always been something really upsetting about glitches. It's almost like the uncanny valley—startling and creepy. You'll be really immersed in something—a game, a movie—then you're ripped out of it by the image cutting out, loud grey static, someone's face stretching... and reminds you it's not real.
